Beads, beads & more beads!
A couple of days ago, a friend of mine, Amanda Davie, invited me to go with her to a bead show put on by Rings & Things. This was the first time that I've attended such an event, and was not prepared for what I waked into-tons and I do mean tons, of beads. I damn near started salivating at that first glimpse! First let me tell you that if you ever have the chance to go to a show put on these folks-go! It was well organized and the staff was great, friendly and with smiles on their faces at all times. Now on to the beads, there was such a good, varied selection, some that I was familiar with but a lot that I hadn't seen in person before, and most of them screaming to go home with me! We had trays, about the size of a greenhouse flat, so my shopping strategy (after realizing that no way could I buy all that I wanted) was when the flat was full, it was time to stop. You know how much one of those trays can hold? Lots!! My arm was actually sore & shaking from toting it around for a couple of hours-that's bad-lol! When I got home and started putting all those strands onto the table for a photo, Gary was got this panicky look on his face and told me he was feeling faint, assuring him that I saved a lot of money by shopping like this didn't seem to help him much:) I was well warned by Tammy about bead shows, too much temptation, she was right. But I'll still go the next time around! So thanks to Amanda for taking me with, it was so much fun! Oh, and she just started blogging, so take a minute and stop by her new blog and welcome her into bloglandia, I'm sure she'll appreciate it.

Hello there, thanks so much for the shout out! I am still realing from the beads, and like any disease/addict I am on Lima's website right now checking out what's on the big green bead machine!! Lol I need help! I love the bead pics, just makes me want more! talk to you soon-amanda

wow, that sounds like fun. I've never been to a bead show but I'm like that at rubber stamp shows! Like a kid in a candy store. The one really good bead shop here in town is always dangerous for me to go into... I always spend way more than I should because everything is so tempting... so I can relate... glad you had such a good time!

I remember my first bead show...oh my! I was so overwhelmed and in heaven over all of it! I think I spent about 200 that time, but I could have spent MUCH more! What are your plans for your new goodies?

oooooooooo....how yummy! Think of all the lovely hours awaiting you and these beads and the wonderful creations....have I mentioned I LOVE beads?! And see, my warning did nothing...walk into one of those shows and you're lost. (or found depending on how you look at it - Daughter carried my beads - when I took them from her I thought how nice to have strong young shoulders - I would have been crawling by the time we were done - beadshop owner Tricia takes a rolling flight bag with her when she goes. =])

Hi, Sue,
First, my compliments on your really well-done blog. It's a pleasure visually as well as reading-wise.
Second, thanks so much for your nice words about Rings & Things bead shows! I passed them around the warehouse here and got happy reactions. We look forward to seeing you again at our next show. Green Bay, right? (We'll be back there on September 9th.)
If I guessed the wrong show, you can check out the full list of our USA shows at www.rings-things.com/Show/index.html.
Cheers!
