Another new experience

Most days lately, start off with sitting on the deck in the morning with a cup of coffee, watching the hummingbirds battle it out for the feeder.  This little guy seems to be the bully of the crowd, chasing everyone else away.  Yesterday started off the same, little did I know what a wonderful experience I had coming a little later on.  Yesterday I was set up at

The Flying Pig , being the Artist in the Garden for the day.  It was hot & sticky, even on the lakeshore, but there was a steady stream of folks walking through the gardens, with a fair number stopping to chat.  A gal came up & looked at my art, and fell in love with a collage, which she purchased.  But not before she told me that this was the very first piece of art that she had ever bought for herself.  I was literally speechless, at the thought of something I created, being someone's very first art purchase, and honored, to say the least.  My mind was so busy trying to wrap itself around that concept, that I never got her name, and I feel horrible about that.  So, if the new owner of my artwork is reading this, PLEASE, leave a comment or drop me an email, I need a name to attach to this wonderfully positive experience.  You truly made my day!  After returning home at the end of the day, it was back out on the deck, watching the hummingbirds, reflecting on the events of the day.  And all I could do was smile, and think, just how cool was that!
